Rain or shine, you know I’ll be there to pick you up when your feeling blue. I got your back. You got no money, but you can take mine, I don’t really need it to tell the truth. I feel the pressure, building up inside, but I think I can make it fine with you. We’re treading water, I believe this boat is bound to sink, so we should learn to swim. I got your back. We might fight, get in some trouble, drink too much, and sleep ‘til noon. I got your back. We will find a passage onward, to something else we’d rather do. I feel the pressure, building up inside, but I think I can make it fine with you. We’re treading water, I believe this boat is bound to sink, so we should learn to swim. Can you feel it? I feel the pressure, building up inside, but I think I can make it fine with you. We’re treading water, I believe this boat is bound to sink, so we should learn to swim. I got your back.

I’ve been working for the man, he’s got my life in his hands, and I can’t stand it. I’ve been working for some time, spilled my blood for his worth, and I can’t take it. I’ve been working this factory line, it burns my lungs with poison air, and you just stand there. Maybe it’s the hours I couldn’t be with you. I couldn’t pick you out of an empty room if I wanted to. Missin’ too many holidays, and birthday cakes. Daddy’s coming home one of these days. I’ve been working for the man, he’s got my life in his hands, and I can’t stand it. I’ve been working for some time, spilled my blood for his worth, and I can’t take it. I’ve been working this factory line, it burns my lungs with poison air, and you just stand there.

Floating 02:49
Is your body, is your body, is your body floating down the river? Side by side, we can hear them say, ‘You know you’ll never make it,’ but my love is everlasting. Just words, we’ve heard them all before. Like a record needle skippin’, I just let it spin. My dreams are larger than they seem, so I couldn’t waste another minute working on yours. I had a vision that these wishes I’ve been listin’ aren’t just a passing mention then right out the door. Is your body, is your body, is your body floating down the river? I never thought I would see the day of another mother crying over bodies of a battle zone. Just words, we’ve heard them all before and it doesn’t mean a goddamn thing. I’ve seen things I can’t believe. Picking all your battles from the talking heads on TV, but no no no more. Is your body, is your body, is your body floating down the river? Gonna have to make a change so the children of our children could have love that’s everlasting. Time flies in a fascinating way, like the feather in your hair getting blown by the wind. And it goes doh dee doh doh. It goes, bo bo bo bo. Is your body, is your body, is your body floating down the river?

Mindless 04:28
There’s not a noise, until I make one, not a light, until I burn one down. Do something – mindless. Do something to free your mind. Lying here with our guilty faces, not a story to be told. My witness, my only hope, is flying through the cold. And I know you’ll be there. My life and soul is much like this garden we grow. Now we stand in this deepest darkness, let our bodies become one. Do something – mindless. Do something to free your mind. And I know you’ll be there. My life and soul is much like this garden we grow.

Backseat 02:19
Sell my life for a ticket out of this town. I don’t think I can take it another day at a time. I’ve been stuck on this cloud. I can’t even see my house when we fly this high. Baby’s in the backseat fussin’ with a rubber band. She don’t know where the light is, so I hand her mine. All we see are silhouettes of people behind our new sunglasses. Hiding the light away, we cover the scars we give ourselves every day. So sell my life for a ticket out of this town. I don’t think I can take it another day at a time. I’ve been stuck on this cloud. I can’t even see my house when we fly this high.

Give It Up 04:19
If you live in the past, you better give it up. When you’re moving too fast now, you better give it up. They don’t even like you, you can give ‘em up. Sick of the empty value, so just give ’em up. Don’t care, just breathe. Keep movin’ on. Don’t care, just need someone to rely on. You’re moving along now that you give it up. It don’t take to long now ‘til you can give it up They talk all night, but then you give ’em up. You don’t have to fight about it, give ‘em up. Don’t care, just breathe. Keep movin’ on. Don’t care, just need someone to rely on. Take this knife remove it from my spine, you dug in there. There’s two side, they’re telling all your lies, now I’m aware. Our lives, our minds are pacified like 1955. It’s not like, it’s not like, it’s not like we live to die. We live to die.

One More Day 03:22
One more day of putting up a fight and praying to survive. You swear he’s gonna change before your very eyes, forgave him for his lies, the cuts and burns and broken bones, like a map, describe your broken home. ‘Do or Die’ is tattooed on his neck, you can see it in the light. While you lie awake you‘re trying not to cry, with shivers down your spine. The sheets are stained with blood and pain and all you say is, “One more day.” You know you love him, but I think it’s time he dies. That piece of shit can’t be allowed to hurt you, or anyone anymore, anymore, anymore. The little one’s asleep, your heart rate calms at last to a steady beat. You think of what you’ve done, you say to yourself, “I’m feeling pretty good about it.” One more day, wasting hours driving towards a setting sun, your thoughts drift back to the smell of smoke rising from the gun and when he tried to run, you caught him in the bathroom. The story on the TV, telling the world you’re cracking up, but little do they know, you’re feeling even better than you ever felt before, felt before, felt before. One more day, oh baby it’s just one more day. I swear to God I’ll keep you safe, they’re never gonna catch us anyway, anyway, anyway. The little one’s asleep, your heart rate calms at last to a steady beat, you say to yourself, “I’m feeling pretty good about it.” I’d do it all again, if given a second chance, I’d take his pretty, little head clean off the shoulders. Feeling pretty good about it. I have no regrets and now that he’s dead, I say to myself, “I’m feeling pretty good about it.”

Six 03:54
I thought I heard a noise from far off wastelands covered in velvet clouds. Cover your eyes from it, the bright light that splits. Don’t you see on the horizon. Son, don’t you think it’s alarming. Strange men in their matching suits, and they’re here to shoot. Keep your head down my love. It’s dangerously ricocheting. Bang, bang, bang went the building from beneath. They opened like a fault line and swallowed all of us whole. No lights, no sound, no music. So I thought I heard a voice, echoing softly across this desolate plane. So soon we lost the fight, so we had to run for our lives. 200 miles beneath the Earth we fell. So long world, you’ve been good to me. Maybe one day your children will learn to be a little bit more caring about the lives of other’s because they never were.

What d’you do when you’re feeling lost, and all your friends have shuffled off, and left you here to stay. How will we pay the bills? These envelopes are filled to the brim with the reminder that we’re stuck inside a capitalist machine. Just a cog, we are all, doing your part. Got another one in case you fall. How do you know your just a pawn. When all the kings that played are gone, and left the world astray. How can we write a song? The marching band that played along the day the music died are stuck outside of a capitalist machine. Just a cog, we are all, doing your part. Got another one in case you fall.

Wake Up 04:24
Heat beats down on the streets, flashing lights and blood splattered pavement. Can’t you see it’s crowd control? They’ll throw you under the bus, hold their power tight in their grip. Oh, did you think they fought for us. It’s time to wake up. Wake up. It’s time to take up our arms and run. Red, blue hiding in their suits, shiny shoes, they’re standing on the backs of anyone that they like. The media feeds a forgotten hate, then fills our minds with outrageous lies. Did you think that’s all it takes? It’s time to wake up. Wake up. It’s time to take up our arms and run. Run. You sleeping in your box, with denial, you call it your house trapped behind these shattered locks. Intangibly we hold the flame, unaware we can win the game with love and numbers. It’s time to wake up. Wake up. It’s time to take up our arms and run. Run. Who am I? Who am I to fall asleep? It’s time to wake up. Wake up. It’s time to take up our arms and run. Run.
